• Rev. Thomas Irby

    Lead Pastor

    Rev. Thomas Irby began serving Mason UMC in 2019. Thomas is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. He grew up in Panama City, FL, and attended Florida State University. He received his Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School in 2015. His passions for ministry are rooted in liberation theology, LGBTQ inclusion, and mental health care. Thomas has two children: Judah and Mabel. Thomas loves coffee, tattoos, and all different kinds of music, but has a particular fondness for punk and hardcore.

  • Shawna Gordon

    Spiritual Director for Children and Youth

    Shawna Gordon began working with the youth and children at Mason in December 2020. Shawna grew up in Vancouver, WA. She attended George Fox University and graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in 2020. Shawna is mildly obsessed with her mini-golden doodle named Pippen, loves hiking, sweet things, and the 1999 film, The Mummy.

  • Christina Haver

    Office Administrator

    Christina Haver began working at Mason UMC in 2019. She grew up in Virginia Beach, VA. Christina has a diverse employment background which includes working as a chef for 15 years, and as a licensed medical massage therapist. Christina moved to Tacoma in 2018 with her husband, son, and two cats.

  • Emma Kelly


    Emma Kelly has loved and studied music for the majority of her life.  In 2018, she graduated from the University of Puget Sound, having there studied organ with Joseph Adam, Paul Thornock, and Wyatt Smith, as well as studying piano with Duane Hulbert and Tanya Stambuk, and participating in all three of the school’s choirs.  She has worked as an accompanist, performer, and teacher in the local area, as well as in her hometown of Thousand Oaks, CA. In addition to her musical pursuits, Emma enjoys dancing, acting, and singing in her free time. 

  • Linda Queree

    Nursery Attendant

    Linda serves as the Nursery Attendant at Mason UMC. She's lived in Tacoma her entire life and was nurtured by the wonderful folks at Mason Church since she was born. When she's not at Mason, she serves as a nanny of 5 wonderful boys. In Linda's spare time, she volunteers at Downing Elementary School. She absolutely loves working with kids. Linda's favorite part about working with children is learning about each child and the stories that they share. Linda also has a deep passion for drawing and painting.
