What We Believe

The mission of The United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.  At Mason UMC, we seek to fulfill this mission by loving God (through worship, spiritual practices, and study), and loving neighbor (by serving those in need and reaching out to our community).

Our worship, preaching, and teaching often comes from diverse perspectives. You will hear us speak of the Holy Trinity, the Incarnation of Jesus Christ, and Jesus' death and resurrection. However, you will also hear teaching that takes doubt, social justice, and the perspectives of other faith traditions seriously. Mason UMC is a diverse group of people who have a wide variety of beliefs about the Christian faith. We make a special effort to not pressure anyone to affirm or conform to any particular teaching.

Mason UMC affirms and celebrates people who identify as LGBTQ+ in all leadership positions. People who identify as LGBTQ+ preach, teach, provide pastoral care, serve on church leadership teams, and work with our youth & children. Queer people are part of our family from the youngest to the oldest, and our congregation is better for it.
