Who: Children, youth, and adults who want to worship god through music, played or sung. Why: Music is one of the best ways to express closeness to God. Mason UMC welcomes all who feel called to this form of worship, service, and fellowship, whether you have experience or not.

The mission of Troop 224 is to promote the training of young men in Scout craft and to teach them patriotism, courage, self-reliance, and to arouse and inspire responsibility along with the Scout oath, law, and outdoor code. Troop 224 has a long history of serving young men in the north Tacoma
area. The Troop celebrated it's 40th anniversary in 1995 and is quickly
approaching it's 50th anniversary. We just recently, in November of 2001,

FOOD BANKUrsula Bannister The food bank and Mason Methodist Church is part of the Northwest Tacoma FISH Food Bank Network. Mason is one of eight neighborhood churches in the north and west ends of Tacoma cooperating to provide food to individuals or families in need. One of the churches is open each week. Church serving this week: Call 383-1813. Hours of operation: 1 pm to 3 pm Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. At Mason Church, the Food Bank operates out of the Downstairs Kitchen. Clients should enter through the southwest door on the basement level. Go down the ramp on the 27th Street side of the Church. One person may pickup food for the entire family. Please bring identification for each family member. There are opportunities for Mason Church members to participate. Operations: Volunteers needed once every two months. Donations: Deposit food items and supplies in Church foyer grocery cart Financial donations: Place gifts in offering or mail to Church. Mark "For Food Bank" PEACE

Who|Why|What|Where|When Who: A group of devoted people who meet monthly to help plan and create an atmosphere conducive to worship in the sanctuary. Why: Atmosphere matters. As the liturgical seasons of the church change, so the sanctuary should reflect both the season and a sense of continuity. The Relate work group strives to create an atmosphere during each season that brings people closer to God. What: A wide range of tasks are performed by Relate. Changing paraments, designing altar displays, setting up for communion, decorating the Christmas trees, or arranging Easter flowers are all tasks performed by a flexible group, varying in size from task to task. Where and When: The work group meets as needed, in varying locations in the church, and in varying configurations. Tasks may be taken on on a routine basis or for the short term only. Who|Why|What|Where|When Who: The Mason Church Council is composed of representatives from all standing committees and work areas, the pastors, and an appointed chair and secretary. Why: We exist to vision for Mason Church as well as approve policy recommendations. What: The Church Council takes action on all matters pertaining to the running of the Church. Where and When: Church Council meets monthly on the third Wednesday of the month in the Conference Room. Click here to link to the calendar.
Finance CommitteeClaudia Lovette, Chair
Who|Why|What|Where|When Who: The Finance Committee consists of members of the church with some financial background, the Church Treasurer, the Church Council Chair, and an appointed secretary. Why: The church runs smoothly only if financial matters are prayerfully overseen. What: The Finance Committee provides financial direction and guidance, as well as overseeing stewardship of the church's financial base. All decisions about major purchases or funding drives must go through finance, as must decisions about special offerings. Childcare is offerred for children from infancy through the age of four at the first service and for those in infancy through the age of three in the second service. Staffed by at least two qualified child care workers, the child care center, located just north of the northmost entrance to the narthex, is a bright, busy place to leave your young ones during worship. Children over four at the first service and over three at the second service may attend Sunday School. Click here to link to Christian Education.
